Kool Whip's dam, Somethingtocrowabout is a daughter of Rooster (Gallo Del Cielo) that earned $16,877 and made the Open NRHA Futurity finals with Todd Sommers. Somethingtocrowabout's dam was a great mare that Chris Benedict showed named Miss Dee Step. Miss Dee Step earned 17 AQHA points in reining and cowhorse and was a famous mare in her day. She had 10 foals (two were injured as babies and could not be shown) of which 7 were performers including Somethingtocrowabout, Two Are D San (AQHA Reserve Worlds Champion Senior Working Cowhorse, 3rd at the AQHA World Show in reining with 57.7 AQHA Open points in reining, cowhorse and roping, 27 AQHA Youth performance points and earnings of $3,202 ), The Catipillar (NRHA earnings of $18,526), Motown Sound (NRHA earnings of $2,263) and Back Beat (15 AQHA reining points, $506 in NRHA earnings).
