2008 is here and the reining horse industry appears to be stronger than ever! Sales and traffic are brisk.

  • Congratulations to David Aitken and family from Scranton, Arkansas and agent-trainer Doug Millholland for the purchase of Totally Dun Twistin. Twistin is really a nice mare and should be a good fit for Doug and the Aitkens.
  • Congratulations to Randy Paul from Cave Creek, Arizona on the purchase of Wright On Wimpy, a three year old Wimpys Little Step gelding. Randy won the 2006 NRHA Open Reining Futurity and is nearing the million dollar mark in NRHA earnings. Wright On Wimpy will be in good hands with Randy and his family.
  • Congratulations to our good friend and good customer, Dennis Frieder from Santa Fe, New Mexico, on the purchase of Fiesta Del Cielo, a four year old reining gelding. Dennis could not be more pleased with "Howdy" and came home from their first horse show with a win
  • Thank you Ron Thompson of Whitesboro, Texas on the purchase of two great 2007 stud colts, Homer Wimpson and Quistador. We are proud to have Ron "join our program" as a buyer. Ron has a great eye for young horses and consistently buys yearlings and sells them for a lot of money as broke two year olds on the NRHA Futurity Sale. This program has been very successful for Ron, having sold a Shining Spark two year old stud colt on the 2006 NRHA for $197,000. Last year Ron's two year olds on the NRHA sale averaged over $100,000. Ron and I looked at these colts in the pasture for 5 minutes and they were sold, he knows a good one when he sees one!
  • FLASH!! There is no better feeling for us than to see a horse we have bred, raised, started under saddle and sold go on and do well at the big shows. At the 2008 NRBC reining in Katy, Texas, This Chicsdundreamin and George Lawrence did just that! George and This Chic won the Limited Non Pro Derby, were second in the Int. Non Pro Derby and tied for 10-11 place in the Non Pro Derby, winning over $24,000 in less than a week. Congratulations to George and his fine mare to a job well done! Also, Shad Parkinson and Smart Little Stepper made the Open and Int. Open Derby finals at the 2008 NRBC.
  • Congratulations to Santa Hill Farm in upstate New York and their trainer, Craig Johnson, on the purchase of Shinin In Hollywood. This mare has allot of "look" and will really fit Craig's style. We look for big things from this pair in the future. Shinin In Hollywood has the same mother as This Chicsdundreamin.
  • Congratulations to The Mayer Cattle Company of Houston, Tx. and trainer-agent Troy Koehl on the purchase of Wimpys Little Tucker. With his conformation and his mind, I think he is one of the best Wimpys I have raised!
  • Congratulation to Arcese Quarter Horses from Arco, Italy and Weatherford, Texas on the purchase of the good 2007 filly, Trick Or Treats. Mr. Arcese is a big time player in the reining horse industry and is the owner of Chic Please and Walla Walla Whiz. Also, Arcese Quarter Horses owns Wimpys Little Chic, the winner of the 2007 NRHA Futurity. Mr. Arcese knows a good horse when he sees one!
  • Congratulations to John Frank of Oberlin, Louisiana on the purchase of the fine mare, Cee the Cats Mewow.
  • Congratulations to Stoney and Stuart Russell of Longview, Texas on the purchase of the 2006 filly, Wimpys Dun Twistin. Stoney and Stuart have been longtime friends and customers, they should really enjoy this filly.
  • Congratulations to agent-trainer Jordan Larson for selecting the two year old mare, Out Shinin Wimpy for the Dorminy Plantation in Fitzgerald, Georgia. The Dorminy Plantation and Jordan know good horses and we are honored that they purchased this fine mare.

Remember - The difference between Champ and Chump is U.
